Broomfield VOAD and our Participant organizations have agreed to abide by the National VOAD Points of Consensus, a copy of which is available here.

In the fall of 2019, we hosted two community information meetings. The link to our Power Point presentation can be found here.

What kinds of emergencies does the VOAD respond to?

The VOAD waits for direction from the City & County Emergency Response Team before deploying. We may respond to:
• Structure or wild grass fire
• Ongoing power outages
• Active shooter
• Snowstorm or blizzard or wind
• Pandemic or epidemic
• Infrastructure failure
• Hazardous material release

What does the VOAD do?

• Organize and deploy volunteers to help in emergencies and service activities
• Assist in collecting and distributing goods and clothing to citizens in need
• Assist to distribute money when all other avenues have been exhausted
• Assist in coordinating long term relief efforts
• Mitigates the emergency within the emergency

What the VOAD does not do:

• We are NOT first responders
• We are not a 501(c)(3)
• We are not a government agency, but we coordinate with the City & County
• We do not deliver services, but instead connect participant organizations to help disaster survivors in the Broomfield community
