Ready.gov is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies and disasters. The goal of the campaign is to promote preparedness through public involvement. Ready asks individuals to do four key things:

Stay informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses.

Make a family emergency plan.

Build an emergency supply kit.

Get involved in your community by taking action to prepare for emergencies.

An Introduction to Being Prepared, presented by Mike Young, organizer of the Colorado Preparedness Educational Network and member of Broomfield VOAD’s Advisory Committee.
Emotional and Spiritual Care for Volunteers, presented by Kathy Escobar, co-pastor of The Refuge and Broomfield VOAD’s Emotional and Spiritual Care Coordinator, and Jo Ddouglas, also a co-pastor of The Refuge and founder of Mindful Member Care which helps folks develop resilience when working in hard places.

Local Emergency Alerts
LookoutAlert is the official Emergency Notification System of the City and County of Broomfield, Jefferson County, and the City of Westminster.
CodeRED is the official Emergency Notification System of Adams County. They have a mobile app for the service.
BOCO Alert is the official Emergency Notification System of Boulder County.
The State of Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management website lists emergency alert links for all Colorado counties.
Other Useful Emergency Apps
The FEMA website provides real-time weather and emergency alerts from the National Weather Service for up to five locations nationwide, and helps you find a nearby shelter if you need to evacuate to a safe space.
Smart911 lets you be prepared for any emergency by giving public safety the information they need to better help and communicate with you.
